Our Wines
From the ruggedly beautiful terroir of Central Otago in New Zealand Nanny Goat produces fruit forward wines with powerful firmly structured palates. We are known especially for our Pinot Noir which exhibits a trademark dark colour, notes of the ripe cherry and smoky spicy aromas. Our wines that speak for themselves and are not veiled by excessive winemaking intervention.
A true expression of the unique terroir Central Otago, which produces wines of extraordinary intensity and distinction. Each vintage, winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald crafts these wines from our vineyard in Queensberry and from our long-term partnering vineyards; Vela Vineyard, Legend Terrace Vineyard and Tankersley Vineyard. Each site shares a similar viticultural philosophy, resulting in wines with elegance, concentration and balance whilst allowing each individual parcel of fruit to tell its unique story.
NANNY GOAT VINEYARD
The Queensberry range is 100% sourced from our home vineyard in Queensberry. BioGro Certified organic, this single vineyard range sees the benefits of the adoption of organic and regenerative viticultural practices, both environmentally and qualitatively. The effect of healthy soils and resilient vines is evident in the quality of fruit and characteristics of this wine.
QUEENSBERRY RANGE
Utilising tiny parcels of fruit and small scale ferments affords winemaker Alan Peters-Oswald freedom to experiment. Basket-Case is his creative outlet, a chance to roll back his sleeves and connect with the wine on a much deeper level. Available exclusively at Cellar Door and through Wine Club initiatives.
