Rare Batch 02

The Vela Vineyard in Pisa, about a 20 minute drive from our home vineyard in Queensberry has an incredibly special place in the story of our Super Nanny Pinot Noir. In any given year, blocks from this site make up around 30-40% of the final Super Nanny blend. The vineyard sits just above road level at the foothills of the Pisa Ranges. Somewhat protected, somewhat exposed, the vineyard experiences high winds (creating really strong vines) that produce a robust and generous style of Pinot Noir each year. Our Rare Batch 02 wine is a single barrel expression of this incredible site.

Fun fact, each block in this vineyard is named after a different USA state. Alan tends to favour Texas and Rhode Island!
